EU Marks Its 30th Anniversary with Thanksgiving Service
Evangelia University held a thanksgiving service to commemorate its 30th anniversary, with over 160 attendees joining both in person and online to express gratitude for God’s grace. The service was led by Rev. Jincheol Su(Senior Pastor of Wooridle Church and board member), followed by an opening prayer from Elder Namjin Jeon(San Jose Church, board member), a choral performance by the CTS Choir, and a scripture reading by Professor Gapjong Choi.
Rev. Seongeun Choi, President of the Korean Kosin General Assembly, delivered a sermon titled “New Wine in New Wineskins,” encouraging Evangelia University to embrace its identity as a missional seminary and take bold steps forward.
The service concluded with a benediction from Rev. Hakryang Choi.
During the event, appreciation plaques were awarded to Professors Chahi Won and Giwon Han for over 30 years of dedicated service, and to Charlie Lee, who has overseen academic administration. Additional plaques were presented to Elder Hwansik Jung, Elder Kwangsoo Lee, Elder Jechun Shin, Elder Homook Lee, and Deacon Kyungae Lee of San Jose Presbyterian Church for their longstanding support.
Notably, Evangelia University has received a $1 million grant from the Lilly Foundation, which will support educational innovation, next-generation leadership development, and multicultural church leadership training over the next three years.
