MAICS

 

 

The Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (Missiology) (MAICS) program is designed to prepare men and women who desire to use their spiritual gifts and abilities to expand the lordship of Jesus Christ in every corner of the world. MAIS is a professional degree to develop and equip students with biblical and theological knowledge and ability to serve in a particular field of evangelism and world mission. The program that offers both online and residential courses is designed to be completed in two years.

 

 

 

Having completed the MAICS degree program, students will have demonstrated:

 

  1. a personal and spiritual formation that is foundational to Christian life and intercultural/cross-cultural ministry (e.g., the shaping of Christian identity, growth in personal faith, theological thinking, Christian lifestyle, professional ethics) ;
  2. a sense of God’s calling to evangelism and world mission to advance God’s kingly rule in every sphere of life;
  3. knowledge and understanding of the biblical, theological, historical, and cross-cultural foundations of Christian mission;
  4. an ability to articulate the biblical and theological goals of Christian mission and integrate mission theories and practice;
  5. intercultural competency to understand the people embracing other religious traditions and worldviews and communicate to them the Christian gospel effectively in various intercultural or cross-cultural settings;
  6. ministerial skills to fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities as Christian missionaries in diverse life and ministry settings (e.g., teaching, counseling, and leading in a church or mission organization).
