Evangelia University Faculty Attends the CBTE 2025 Conference
Professors Soonhae Kang, David Kim, and Sung Min Hwang attended the 2025 CBTE (Competency-Based
Theological
Education) Conference held November 13-16 at the Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. CBTE is an innovative educational model that moves beyond traditional knowledge-centered instruction to focus on developing and assessing the competencies required for real-world ministry and pastoral
leadership.
Through this conference, Evangelia University gained valuable insights, practical models, and collaborative connections for advancing its own CBTE initiatives. These learnings are expected to play a significant role in shaping the university’s development of a competency-based theological education system and in driving future program innovation. Building on this experience, Evangelia University plans to continue strengthening its practical, ministry-centered educational model and to gradually expand its CBTE-based programs for the formation of next-generation Christian leaders.
